Progress

Last week I told you about starting Small as a writer. I have consistently been writing for ten minutes everyday.

When I feel tired and overwhelmed, the goal is to show up as a writer and it is not necessary to write a “great” or “perfect” . Doing this reduces the pressure.

I feel more like a writer.

Ray Bradbury

One of Ray Bradbury Advice for young writers and beginners is to start writing a short story every week. I am taking this challenge because it is less intense and I get to focus and experiment compared to a daily story challenge.

Quantity creates quality:

The best hygiene for beginning writers or intermediate writers is to write a hell of a lot of short stories. If you can write one short story a week—it doesn’t matter what the quality is to start, but at least you’re practicing, and at the end of the year you have 52 short stories, and I defy you to write 52 bad ones. Can’t be done. At the end of 30 weeks or 40 weeks or at the end of the year, all of a sudden a story will come that’s just wonderful.

Will you join me on this challenge?

Would be nice to have a writing partner.

For this week the prompt I would be using is the Cycles prompt.

There are many cycles in life .

1.Write a story of a character going through the cycle of being a mother for the first time.

2. Write a story of the cycle of losing a loved one.

3. Write a story of the cycle of loving something or someone and losing them.

What is your biggest pain when it comes to writing?

I really want to know.
