How has it been going so far? A lot is happening with writing. Nevertheless I choose to write.

Expanding the reach of your work.

I have been looking at the art of writing and how to change them into a form for everybody.

For example adapting a book into a movie. This is big

A small version would be changing a poem to spoken word performance.

I started a YouTube channel but completely forgot about it.

Another method would be making a dramatic podcast ,radio drama , audiobook for a book, novel, short story etc.

There are two major benefits

  • You reach a lot of persons
  • You could make a lot of money

Think of any great book, poem that defined the culture and history of a generation . Any literature. That book was seen read or talked about by many.

An example of such author is William Shakespeare. His works did many things but the major things are:

  • Influence generations of writers
  • Change the linguo of the language with his idioms . When you hear Romeo and Juliet what comes to your mind.

Etc

The Law of 100

I have been introduced to this concept of making 100 things of what you want to be good at.

The idea is to iterate every one you make and when you get to 100 you become good.

In writing for example. You could decide to become a poet. You write 100 poems and with every poem you write you test techniques ,edit, imitate, recite, get feedback and keep improving with every poem you write.

Ray Bradbury understood this concept when he advised young writers to write a short story every week and at the end of a year they could not end up writing 52 bad stories.

I am thinking of doing a law 100 challenge on any of the genres make it simple and less time demanding. You can tell me what you would like to see.

Quote.

You learn to write by writing.

~William Zinsser

Update

I am writing my exams. I have some writings experiments I want to do and other things I would love to test when I finish my exams in September.

You can tell me what you would like me to do . From literary magazines response rate to famous writers routines . You name it.

Until next time keep writing.
