Will you be participating in Nanowrimo?

Nanowrimo might not be for you. Truth is it is not for everyone. You want to participate but not towards a novel after all the support and accountability is out there.

Before I proceed with a couple of housekeeping.

Nanowrimo is a competition held every November. Nanowrimo is short for National Novel Writing Month.

The goal is to write at least 50,000 words at the end of the month.

With this word count goal you will have to write an average of 1667 words every day to reach this goal.

If writing novels is not your thing. You can adapt the challenge to suit your preferred type of writing

Here are some examples

  • Write 100 word story everyday
  • Write a flash fiction everyday
  • Write a short story everyday
  • Write a poem everyday

To reach this goal you need these things. A very concrete goal with a clear type of writing.

1.In my case it’s is flash fiction (750 to 1,000 words)

2.A list of ready to use prompts.

3.An accountability group or community with similar goals.

With so many things to write for today’s newsletter. I felt I should let you know just in case you are interested.

You can also add a specific time of day to write.

Let me know what you are up to.

Until next time, keep writing.
